Is there a problem if your fingers/palm absorb too much water too quickly?

Well, recently whenever I've been brushing my teeth, showering, or washing dishes, my fingers seem to absorb way too much water. Not only that, the "pruning" happens so much quicker than usual (within a minute or two). Aside from that, it's been happening in between my fingers. At one point, it started to hurt a little bit in between the fingers. I keep myself properly hydrated and my fingers aren't particularly dry, although I do tend to wash my hands often if that means anything.
