I am 16, and I've never been pretty active. As a kid I played a lot of video games, and now I'm on my computer a lot. I've also never been into sports. Obviously, if I wanted to do the absolute best for my posture, I would go do sports and stop going on my computer so much. But it isn't that simple. There are things I love to do on my computer, things that could end up being a career. As for sports.. I don't have any interest in them at all. On top of that, I've had no practise or training. Therefor in a sport I'm basically just a drag to a team and I don't even want to be there.
So considering that I plan to use my computer a lot and that I'm not an athlete, is there any hope of reversing my bad posture and saving myself from being hunched over in the future? I've been trying to incorporate good habits. For example, I try to stretch at least once every few days, do stretches while I'm sitting, and I'm always reminding myself to stand/sit up straight. I have noticed that I don't tend to lean forward as much when I walk. Also, I don't usually sit at my computer for hours and hours straight. I will use my computer for a long time, but I get up often to go get something or even for the sake of moving.
From what I just said I'd like to think I can at least prevent any further damage. But what else can I do?
