Is there a law against punching babies?

... this is a stupid question based on a dumb argument. I'm sure there is but I just need to know the actual law...

Children are protected by the law from physical violence, yes. And if this question was asked to garner giggles, it's not funny.
 
There is a law against shaking a baby, so I would imagine there is one for punching it!
 
Yes however I thing there may be a clause that permits one time jabs at ugly babies & those that cry while sitting next to you at movie theaters and airplane rides that are more than 3 hours long.
 
Puncing defenceless little babies, no, no laws at all. I hear these days you can kick the s**t out of them and its ok. Not abusive at all.
 
Punching a baby in the head is likely to kill it so do you really need to ask such a stupid question use your common sense.
 
are you really that stupid!!!! HONESTLY!! who the hell argues about punching babies?? obviously its illegal....its CHILD ABUSE.....what are you like 4! holy crap I think this is by far the worst question I have ever seen on here! you should save your stupid questions for your parents to avoid public embarassment!
