I read that sugarcane fibers are compostable. Is it the same as bagasse?

The new green replacement for styrofoam is compostable and biodegradable, especially in restaurants and stuff. I heard they use bananas or recycled paper. For plastic bags, cloth bags! Totally re-usable. Or bags made out of old juice boxes.
