I'm looking at portable/wearable cameras at the moment, primarily with an aim to use one as an alternative means of recording a holiday.
My requirements are like this:
1. Ability to record video at a decent resolution (e.g. 480p+), and audio at the same time, even if I look like a fool talking into a headset
2. Long battery life - turn it on at 8am and off at 10pm, i.e. 14+ hours of continuous recording. I don't mind carrying a unit with a large battery in my bag as I will be carrying my bag anyway. As long as it's not super heavy
3. Ability to recharge in the remaining time left in the day (ideally faster, in case of having to wake up early some days!), or ability to switch batteries to charge the spare while using the main one
5. Wearable is ideal, and the closer to the head the better - but I wear glasses, so unfortunately camera glasses are out of the question unless they can somehow mount to my existing glasses.
6. A convenient means of offloading the data to computer, where I have more storage space
I have figured out that my best bet is probably a setup where the camera and recording unit are two separate pieces, but I am having trouble finding a recorder unit with long battery life that isn't designed to be mounted to a wall.
