Is there a future in Business Degree?

I am in the same situation with this question: "ARE BUSSINES DEGREE MARKETABLE IN THIS ECONOMY ? OR I NEED A MBA?"
Hello everyone, =)

I Too have 2 more years to complete my BS in business administration. I am also wondering if there is a positive outcome for my effort or shall i change and go with Nursing (RN) with only a CNA certificate in hand at the moment. Keeping in mind that our stressed economic will get better as well. anyone with ideas or comment please share it with us.
Another thing, how is the industry out there for new business administrators? Are we wasting our time and money in this choice of career field?
 
I think many people taking General Business would be better off taking a BSIT in Industrial Technology/Management. BSIT degrees combine Business courses with training in some type of Technology.
 
The main problem with the business degree is that it's the most popular degree offered. Using the maxim you'll hear in business school a lot--"buy low and sell high"--earning a business degree can be a losing proposition because having the same degree as everyone else doesn't distinguish you much in the mind of a future employer.

On the other hand, the employment opportunities for nurses ahead are clear because of demographics. Everyone is aging, including the current nurses, and older people need more nursing care. At this point earning a nursing degree is still "buying low" and having several decades ahead where you can "sell high."

Getting a nursing degree and *then* an MBA could be a whopper of a great set-up for high earnings down the road.
