I updated latest firmware for the E61. But i still get the wrong characters on my phone. They are all messed up. And there's like some arabic characters too. Is there a fix for this? Or nokia hasn't bothered to do anything about it?

There are some threads about this somewhere else on this forum. To get the right keyboard configuration, you have to use a program called Nemesis (I think) before hand and write the correct firmware code onto your phone's memory. Then when you use the Nokia Software Updater it will detect that code, and install the proper firmware that matches your keyboard, during the upgrade.

From that point on, any future firmware updates should all continue to work correctly and you should always get the right keypad layout. You only have to do the Nemesis thing once.

This link describes the process of how to get Nemesis and use it to change your phone's product code. Use the right one for your keyboard layout, then use the normal Nokia Software Updater and it should install the correct.

On the sticker, underneath the battery (you have to take the battery out) you'll see "NOKIA" written in big letters.

Under that, it says IMEI and a number.

Under THAT, it says CODE and a number. That number is your product code.

ok..i just tried it but for the Nemesis program. When i click 'Scan' it doesn't show anything in the details/information box. and in the bottom it says 'Error'. and even after all that i tried to enter my code-->enable-->write .. still gives me 'Error' . and the phone is connected to the computer.
