is there a fish similar to an oscar but smaller?

I would love to have an oscar because i just love those mean ugly aggressive fish lol, but cant get a huge tank. Are there any fish that have an appearance and personality similar to an oscar but smaller, like 6-7 inches? Please be specific what type of fish. Thank you :D
 
i'd have to ay jewel cichlids are a pretty close match (the red variety anyways) to "mini" oscars.. the blue ones look exactly like jack demsepys
