i recently took the pre-ACT and it said not to use a mechanical pencil. but i still used one cuz that's all i had and no one else in my room had extras. i done the bubble test b4, like ITBS and ITEDs (standardized tests every one takes in HS in IA [4 class placement, stats, etc.]) with a number two mechanical pencil (which i used on the pre-ACT). no problems on that. i've done bubble tests @ school w/ mechanical pencils no prob. Does the ACT use a different machine to check answers? will it still read my test? is there a difference between mechanical and manual pencil lead? thx
