Is there a blonde root touch up that can be used on natural red hair or can you just use normal hair dye?

Every root touch up product I see in the shops says "not suitable for use on red hair" - I tested this and indeed it is not suitable because it doesn't work :( I can't afford to get it done professionally.

Also - can you just use a normal hair dye to touch up the roots if not? I have my natural colour under the blonde and I don't want to just dye all of my hair blonde!
