Gold this morning is at almost $1150 an ounce.. the dollar continues to drop.. if you believe the MS Media everything is getting better.. now they say as our dollars being devalued (printing press) it is HELPING Wall Street:confused: who gives a fuck about those assholes?!?!! maybe it's just me.. what ya think?

I think that it's worse than they're saying, they're trying to keep people calm by lying, and the only people benefiting from these times are the ones who need it the LEAST.

Well I got a job, and Dylan got a job, and my roommate found another job after being laid off...So I think it's getting better, but it'll take about a year or so before we're going to see a real difference.

Of course this is just speculation, I don't watch the news anymore.

Part of what is going to get peopel spending money is if they have a more positive state of mind. Without people spending, the economy gets worse. With a negative point of view on the future of the economy, no one would spend.

I do believe things are getting better, but it's only the beginning. It's going to take a couple of years for things to really be where it should be. It takes time to fix the screw ups Bush made. As long as it's headed in the right direction, I'd much rather think positively. Some things are going to fall a bit more before heading back up. The economy is made of a a variety or things and not just the stock market...which is headed in the right direction. Businesses and real estate will take time to catch up. Some businesses that have been able to take advantage of people in bad situations are also going to have to learn to let go a bit so everyone can grow. Other companies may still have to lose more people in order to gain some profit before hiring back. Some companies are already doing better.

It's just going to take some time. Just because one part of the economy is doing well it does not mean that everything is all better. Some wounds take longer to heal. But, if you pick at the scabs, it'll take even longer. Think positively so the economy does actually continue to improve.

Talk to your grandparents or great grandparents

My grandpa had soda crackers and water for dinner many, many nights for a very long time because there simply was no other food in Chicago where he lived as a little boy.

Watch this show called The American Experience---you will learn what a depression is like.

No. We are NOT in a depression.

We are in a recession.

The stock market is always about one to 1.5 years ahead of the actual economy. Wall Street will climb back to normal before the rest of the country does. Nothing new here.

We aren't in a depression. And as far as what the government is telling us, well, the fact is they aren't saying much and they're lying when they do. However, if they came right out and said just how bad things currently are, people would revolt in the streets. So, they're covering their asses. Things will turn around, but it will be slow.

it is so bad people would revolt in the streets.. but.. NOT a depression? o.k. i think maybe just a depression would be better..:happysad:

I was lucky enough to land a job at one of the largest wastewater (fiberglass/resin septic tanks basically) solutions plants this past June.

Here is all I can say about it at the moment.

I know I got the job in June because sales where good. they added a swing shift, which I am on now.

As of the 30th of this month, swing shift is no longer. Sales are down AGAIN. Way down.

The plus side of this though is that they are keeping me and I am going to day shift.

Obviously what I do is a direct effect of housing (building) and such.

It's pretty bad all around.

The company I work for.
