Is the U.S. in danger of total financial collapse?

The U.S. is in so much debt we can never pay it back. The government keeps coming up with more expensive programs to pay for. The foreign debt has skyrocketed. Some states in the U.S. are going bankrupt. Is there really any way to get out of this situation? I'm not looking for anyone to try and blame someone. I just want to know if there is any way to avoid the whole thing crashing down.
Lordpercywooster XXV: I guess you didn't read all of my question. I said I wasn't looking for someone to place blame. I just want to know how we are going to get out of this situation. Go ahead and keep blindly following your leader Obama. I hope it works out for you.

no it isn't

that is a false assumption why do you think we can never pay it back, when times are good the taxation receipts rise, inflation devalues the debt . You basic assumption is incorrect

the government has certain obligations to the people, we are a very wealth nations , we should not live like beggars within our own country

foreign debt , is irrelevant why does it matter who we owe money to?

no state is going bankrupt, California had a republican ideology turn around and bite them. In the regan years in order to further republican ideology, a proposition regarding taxation was passed, now what we see ina result of this filed republican ideology

yes Obama is doing it, by stimulation the economy, this is normal, previously successful Keynesian economics

it doenst have to be avoid its all working as expected no need to worry

Obama will get us out of the Republican economic Holocaust

90 percent taxation on all American citizens will fix the entire problem. The problem is, the government spends more than it taxes. If we stingy taxpayers would just give the liberals the rest of our money, things would be just fine. For the government.

Yes it is in danger of a complete 'total financial collapse', more so it is in danger of an implosion rendering a complete meltdown of the states as you now know it.
There are some (who are considered gurus of international economic forecasts) who are predicting that. Two of the signs they are speaking of concerns the food and housing crisis.
One; they believe that this summer or by next summer there will be rampant food riots across the united states.
Two; they believe that the population will commit themselves to a massive squatters rebellion on foreclosed houses and no one bank or institute will be able to stop it.
Now ... as far as I'm concerned by what I've read of the article (it was a long one so this is a succinct version of the articles results) the forecast of these international economic gurus seems plausible under the reasoning given in by these men. But ... if it doesn't happen by the end of summer 2010 I'd forget it and look forward to better times.
Who knows? The big suits say one thing and bigger suits say another and we plebeians haven't a clue as to how we will feed and house ourselves in the current state of affairs.
All we can do is pray. Pray and pray for a better day.
