I bought a used Trek 7000 bike and took it immediately to a shop to get a tune-up. The mechanic said bikes are no longer made like that, although it's a "great frame", and that I would be pushed too far forward. Apparently, instead of making frames that go straight back, they are now made so the frame slants down and you're in a more upright position while riding.
Was my investment in vain? The mechanic made me believe I'm going to hate the bike, but if this was a "great bike" 15 years ago why wouldn't it be now.
Bike is still in the shop, so I haven't been able to really ride it yet.
Thanks!
