Is the transition from sport bike to cruiser difficult?

I've been riding a 2001 VFR since 2003 and I'm thinking about upgrading to a new M109r. I've ridden a Harley and a Vulcan for a few miles but nothing substantial. Since I live on an island without a track there is less and less of a reason for me to keep the sport bike. So, if anyone has made a similar transition, I'd love to know your opinion. Any information will be greatly appreciated. (For the record, I'm going with the M109r because of the price to chrome factor. Not interested in a Harley I could buy a car for the price of a comparable bike.)

in simple terms it is like swapping from a bar stool to an arm chair.. so quite a change in comfort..!
I wouldn't bother with a Harley either....
my experience i've found when testing and using Harley's is that the right leg is never ever in a comfortable position (when compared to other cruisers).
So to the armchair analogy riding a Harley it is like sitting in an armchair with your left leg on a light comfy footstool; your right foot on a pile of bricks with a hot kettle on the inside of your right shin and an ice cream melting down the outside of your right shin and a cold frying pan pushed into the inside of your right knee
