Is The Simpsons Movie in a no-win situation?

I'm going to watch The Simpsons Movie tomorrow night, but I have been thinking recently that it will get bad press regardless.

If it's great, people will be quick to ask questions about why they can make a good movie yet the TV show is suffering from declining quality.

If it's rubbish, people will say the franchise is clearly past its best and we should have expected as much based on recent episodes of the TV show.

the reviews have been good.

One of the magazines ran a test where they watched one episode from the first series, one from the sixth series and one episode from the seventeenth series. I think they concluded that the show was still fresh with just as many laughs.

To be honest with all the repeats I've lost track of it all but I'll definitely watch the movie.....

Cant wait to see it and its UK tommorow the 26th and USA the day after on the 27th we get it a day earlier than everyone else due to the time difference.

Its out today in the UK! Well...i presume it is, ive booked tickets to see it this evening anyway.

The first showing was at 1 minute past midnight!

Reviews are now coming online:

Empire .....**
Total film.....****

I think that is what i expected, people will either love or hate this film.

Regardless of reviews, a lot of people will go anyway, 'cause they have grown up with tHe SimpSonS.

The Times and The Guardian both gave it very good reviews. And they are the type of papers who would go against it if anyone did.

I saw it today! I thought it was prett good, I'll give it 4/5!

Had funny gags, pretty good story, and it generated a lot of laughs in the audience.

You also see something very suprising of barts in the film

Saw it this morning and personally I think something got lost in the translation.
I laughed but didn't howl so I'm left disappointed sadly.

Ok, I've seen it.

It was good!!!!!!!! Praise the lord!

Mostly, it was pretty hilarious, spiderpig especially, and continous laughs.

It slows down a bit in the Alaska part, but it brings back the whole family element that's been missing from the show for years.

Please, go see it.

8/10.
