Is The School Of Visual Arts in NYC hard to get into?

Like is it very competitive and do you have to have absolutely perfect scores to get in

i may be alright on the art part, i'm still a sophmore in hs so i can pick up my grades
and work harder on my art

but in 8th and 9th i messed up big time >.<
would that efffect how colleges look at me?
