is the Saw series scary?

I'm not sure how to describe this but i want to know if the Saw series is more gruesome than the Hannibal Lector series. the hannibal series was my limit as far as gruesomeness and gore goes. is the gruesomeness and goriness of saw equal to or more than the hannibal series. I watched hannibal rising which was probably the most gruesome and i was fine with that
