Is the Samsung Focus a good alternative for those who love/hate their iPhone?

I have a iPhone 3G looking to upgrade, and I feel like I spent too much time on it to do simple things and that it takes too long to do things especially on a browser. I seem to like the concept of live tiles on the Samsung running Windows 7 mobile OS... and honest opinions for un-fanboys of either ?
