Is the Rock Band 2 guitar compatible with the Guitar Hero games on Xbox 360?

I'm thinking about picking up a new Rock Band 2 guitar for my Xbox, as I prefer the Rock Band guitars, but I want to know if I get a Rock Band 2 guitar, will I be able to play Guitar Hero games with it, SPECIFICALLY 2 and 3?
