I believe it is and not just because I love football and am bias. It is because it is a unique position and the only one of it's type not only on the football field but of any other sport on the planet.
Not only does the QB have to have great physical fitness and toughness to take the inevitable beating he will receive each game but he needs to have the uncanny god given ability to be accurate when throwing a football requiring great arm strength and mental co-ordination.
Then there is the mental side of things. The play-book, reading the defense, making split second decisions with the football. Also dealing with all the pressure that comes with this most high profile of positions. The press scrutiny, fans, coaches etc.
It is no wonder why a lot of quarterbacks become busts, it is such a challenging position reserved for a very small special few.
