How come nobody actively petitions and truly exercise our rights as a whole?
If government doesn't act in our best interests when a serious majority finds something to agree on, and it was well documented, then can we easily discover who the traitors and unpatriotic souls are?

Does petition seem like an ugly word to you? Seems to put everyone on the defence..except hippies. And who even wants to talk to hippies anyway, the whole thing seems designed to fail.
