Depending on your price range (and this is just my opnion, I could be wrong) The tire you picked is a great tire to start with it is a bit heavy though. Sure why not start with it...I did some years ago and since then I have switched over to Kenda and Maxxis. Kenda for all mtn riding and Maxxis for XC ridding. Every tire has its ups and downs and you need to find one that best suits your bike, your ridding style, and the terrain that you ride on,do not pick one and stop there. I have found that a set of back-up tires is essential too and you can easily find more info on each tire by googling it. I wont go into what the Panaracer did for me exactly because you may not be using it the same way and in the same places that I did. Try it out!
