Is the only true measure of intellect how well you adapt to your "environment"?

Like a poor person living in a council estate is a real numb-nut lol since they have failed to make a good go of there life and instead just scraped by!

Where as someone like Richard branson is obviously exceptionally smart taken advantage of life's opportunities and as a result gets alot more from his life than any of us!

No. Barnacles have adapted extemely well to their environment, and seem to be among our less intellectual cousins. Conversely, Noam Chomsky would remain an intellectual if we transported him to the desert and watched him perish.

Intellect has little to do with the grisly practical business of staying alive.

People who adapt easily all have one thing in common - they know how to accept.

people complain, get angry, feel unworthy, feel poor, impatient, etc etc because they havnt learnt to accept whatever it is that makes them uneasy. they fight it. thats all.

Richard Branson just had an extremely strong will to improve his life.
That type of "success" comes down to nothing more than will.

But many dont see that type of "success" as worth the lifelong chase. Their success lies in family, happiness, freedom and ease, which is just as rewarding if thats what you want. Everyone has a different interpretation of "success", and you shouldnt be so quick to judge just because they differ from your own.

Well thats a simple answer. But Richard B had very positive parents and they encouraged him to be a chancer. Wheresas if you told that you stupid everyday but uncaring parents you will in time believe it.

Its like a curse then which people like water always choose the easy path.

We all given chances but sometimes we fail in seeing them as chances.
