Is the new 2010 Toyota Prius good?

My dad is thinking of buying a new car because I took his old one and I recommended him the new Toyota Prius because he likes quiet and comfortable rides, and loves JBL. Also I have never been in a hybrid and I heard it's amazing, so I want to experience it. Has it much improved from the previous model? If you have had any experience with the old and/or new one, please give me your opinion.
 
I've owned a 2009 Prius and I am way satisfied by the look and the power you get for such a small car. Insurance is a little more expensive for hybrids. And I assure you you'll dad love the new 2010 Prius
 
It's alright, but I would rather have the Volkswagen Jetta TDI, which gets nearly as good mpg's, and costs a LOT less. It's a pretty quiet ride, and it handles and performs better than the Prius. I would tell your dad to go with the Jetta TDI, myself.
