I would not recommend it as a first car, as its engine set-up would be strange to a new driver. When the car was first release we had a shed load of cars coming back to us because experienced drivers were flooding the engine all to easily or something like that, I can't remember exactly ( i was a valeter at Mazda for a short period of time)
