Is the M.A. in Economics worth pursuing for someone who intends to go for a Ph.D....

...and already holds...? ... one or two graduate degrees (J.D. and/or M.B.A.)?

I'm a high school student whose are economics and law.

After I get my B.A. (dual major - mathematics and economics) I intend to enter the workforce (and thereby gaining the work experience required by business schools), then then enter a J.D./M.B.A. dual-degree program. After completing this program I want to practice law or get into investment banking.

Eventually though, I would love to become a prof. I wish to teach economics one day at a university.

Would then, an M.A. in economics be worth pursuing? I have seen many CVs from prestigious faculties that do not have the M.A. (usually having the B.A. and Ph.D. degrees).

What are some reasons for and against getting an M.A. in economics in this scenario?
