Is the iPhone 3G worth getting?

I am in the Chicago area and after reading about all the iPhone 3G problems, am wondering if it is worth getting. I can't seem to get a handle on whether there is a small but vocal minority having issues or if a lot of people are having issues.
 
well every phone has problems - that a normal thing.

Personally I love my iPhone. 1 of the main reasons I purchased it was so I could have my ipod and phone all together. It beats having to carry 2 different items.

Now the 3 main problems people have with the phone is:
1) No multimedia text messages (can recieve via a website, but not send)
2) No video recording
3) No copy and paste

As for is it worth it, that truly depends on the person. I was due for an upgrade on my phone so I did not have to pay the full retail price. Also had a current data plan as I had a blackberry. To me its well worth it. I dont use MMS texting or video recording on a phone that often so its not that big of a deal to me.

The screen is a nice size and I'm always on the go. So a large screen for websites is nice.
