I just hooked up a new Sony Xplod head unit and the unit itself is receiving power as it accepts and rejects CDs but the faceplate doesnt turn on. I have both the 12v constant and ACC 12v wires connected and the only thing not being used from the harness on the unit itself is the illumination wire as my car (01 Jetta) doesnt have an illumination wire in the factory harness. What could be causing the faceplate to not work?
Is the illumination wire the reason my faceplate isn't working?
