...functional? I was wondering this since I have read from some sources that the SOHC turbocharged EJ22 (exclusive to the North American market) does not have an intercooler. Subaru hood scoops on turbocharged models have always been used to redirect air to a top mounted intercooler. However, with the Legacy Sport Sedan/Touring Wagon lacking an intercooler, this leads me to believe it may either be for another purpose or simply cosmetic. So what the heck is the hood scoop for? It surely can't be used for a nonexistant intercooler. Is it for the air intake? Additional miscellaneous cooling?
