3 basic questions, thanks guys
I'm 5'10 about 155lb, do you think im too tall for the 833? Also are the 1200 sportster or nightster the same size body as the 833? I don't plan on having this bike to cruise 2 up all the time, 90-95% alone, but I want to be able to take a girl on the back once in a while for short night cruises, can it do the job??

Thanks guys

Hah! No, it is not too small! And it is plenty big enough to haul two upper medium sized people around. Unless you like really big girls (hey, some do), you can both afford to put on a little weight without over taxing the bike!

It would work for that..... I use my 1200 for a 15-mile one-way commute, but we have a guy who uses an 883 for a 60-mile one way commute. He says he could use the extra 20 HP my 1200 has on the open highway, though. Around town, the 883 will do what you're asking of it.

Yes, it will work, not terribibly quickly but with that note that is the main signature of H-D, the Sportster debuted in 1957 with a top speed of 112 Mph, today it's about 112MPH.
The 1200 is a bored out 883, possibly stroked but the same engine.
Make sure you get the back seat, (optional)

You can answer a lot of these questions by going to the Harley site and looking at the specifications. The 883 sportster does not come with a passenger seat.

have her ride you because that thing is a girls bike. My 76 ironhead now thats a real sportster! you dam near have a 1000 C.C. and any 600 C.C. sport bike will flat dust you!

No, it is not too small. I know a guy who is about 6'2'' and 300 pounds who used to ride one with his wife. That said, 883s suck. They are the worst riding bikes out there. Do yourself a favor and pony up the couple extra grand for a SuperGlide.
