Is the General point of a RAF Medical test, just to see if your fit? not to look at...

...your past history? When having a RAF medical, is the general point just to test your health etc, or will they have your past medical history. Also if its something bad on your past medical history discuss if its still a problem?

In the U.S. we're required to take a physical exam before entry into the military, also. It's used to determine if we are fit enough to join. We have to fill out a long list of forms that ask health questions to determine our medical history, if we have a history of joint problems, back problems etc. They also want to find out if there is a history of certain inherited traits in our family, such as a history of heart disease.
