As parts of its recent marketing campaign for its new high-performance Taurus SHO, Ford recently made a video comparing the acceleration of the 2010 Taurus SHO to the 2010 Audi A6 (with the 4.2L V8) and the Taurus beat out the Audi by almost a second every time. Now, while the Taurus has more break horsepower, is it really a faster car?
Let me preface this by saying that I am a fan of both cars and they are both outstanding vehicles. My first car was a Taurus SHO, and I have recently discovered the greatness of Audi, and my family owns an A6 as well.
Could the Taurus speed hold up in other conditions, such as a curvy road or track? Perhaps the V8 coupled with the Quattro AWD system could give the Audi and edge?
