Is the Ford Escape a good buy?

I'm 16 and i'm looking at a 2008 Ford Escape, it has 30,000 miles and is for 16,000$. can someone tell me if this is a good car or not?
 
The Ford Escape is rated as one of the best small SUVs. Ford has done more than close the reliability gap with Japanese auto makers -- they are now getting higher reliability ratings for their cars that compete with Toyota and Honda. Besides, if you're going to buy American, why not support the only American automaker that didn't take bailout money?
 
Seems to pricey. And 30k in one year does not sound too good. If your willing to throw down so much. Why not look at a new Chevy. The HHR perhaps?
 
at around 100,000 you will have to replace the outter tie rods, lower ball joints, power steering unit, tune-up, including the engine gaskets.
Because this SUV is very sensitive, you will have to replace the fuel filter every 8,000 miles or be stranded.
oil change every 2500 miles
every vehicle is a good vehicle, its the owner that neglects the car and acts like the car was supposed to take care of itself.
