EXHAUST GAS RECIRULATION!!! if you dont know your egr lets inert gas mix with your incoming air. what this does is reduce overall flame tempature. so lets say it doesnt work...just imagine how hot your shit might get?

If you dont have emissions testing in your area, it wont do any harm unless it is stuck open, in that case it will mess with your gas milage and dirty up hte inside of your engine. if its closed then you really don't need to worry about it unless you wanna help the environment
