Is the Ducati 1100 a good motorcycle for me?

I just asked recently about the 696, because I'm in high school right now and own a ninja 250. I've had the ninja for about a year now, and my only concern is about the 696. I really like the monster, but I don't know if would be good as a second bike. I almost got a 695 as a first bike because the dealer told me it was a great beginner bike. So I'm stuck between the 696 or 1100. I just don't want to buy another beginner bike as my second bike, so I'm leaning towards the 1100. Would this be a good bike for a teen with riding experience, going into college?

Before buying your next bike, look into what insurance will cost you. I suspect that might knock Ducatis off your shopping list. Also, as a student, how will you pay the Ducati's (expensive) ongoing maintenance costs?
You say that you "don't want to buy another beginner bike." That's fine, but there are STEPS between a "beginner bike" and an 1,100cc sporting bike. You don't go straight from a Chevy Cobalt to a Lamborghini!

If you gotta ask, no!
If hadn't asked, I'd say WOW! There's a Ducati.
Now, I'd only say you could save yourself a bunch of money by buying a cheaper, more economical means of two-wheel motorized transportation.
Think a bit into the future, if you will, the Ducati is rather high maintenance costs and a college student should think about investing into other things, a few bucks for books sounds about right.
