I bought a used 2002 car with 85,500 miles on it about 60 days ago for 3,800. My mechanic said I need a rear tire bearing and should have the dealer fix it for no charge because after only 1,200 miles of driving it was probably like that when I bought it.
My question is...are dealers typically responsible (by law) for fixing things like wheel bearings BEFORE selling a car to someone? Or is the purchaser responsible for it since it's a used vehicle?
