Is the cell phone service "Cricket" able to be used where i live?

I am trying to get my 1st cell phone and i know almost nothing about them. I'm 18 and its seems like you need one to do anything these days. I'm thinking of using it because its cheap and seems better than verizon or sprint. So i looked up the service cricket and I'm wondering some things.
Can its be used where i live? Sumas, WA 98295
Is it a good service?
Can it be used on any cell phone?
Please help me out.
