The iPhone only supports GSM networks. Therefore, the iPhone will only work with a carrier that uses SIM cards.

If you're in the US, the iPhone is locked to AT&T but you can unlock it to use on T-Mobile. It's impossible to get it to work on Verizon or Sprint.
 
No its not, The iphone is only compatible with At&t and T-Mobile,
you would have to switch service plans if you wanted the iphone.
