Is The Amityville Horror, the book by Jay Anson, any good?

I've seen the movies and liked them, especially the original from 1979. I still can't get enough of that movie. Anyway, I've read good things about the book but I want to know from some of you guys. Maybe you could also give me some links to reviews of the book.
 
This book scared the crap outta me when I was 18. I was in a hotel room, escaping from 110 degree heat...and there was a FLY buzzing in my room!

STILL gives me the shivers!!
