Is the all wheel drive and the transmission all one unit in the Buick Rendezvous?

I just purchased a 2004 buick, they said the tranny was rebuilt. Now 2 weeks later they are telling me the AWD is shot. Are they all in one or can one be rebuilt without the other?
 
nope as part kind of if transmission is shot its shot transmision is what makes it move all wheel drive means all wheel pull at same time no transmission no pulling there is other parts beside transmission that might be bad but cant say its all wheel drive that is a type of car like four wheel drive or a jeep = all wheel drive
