jeeps are generally better built then the rest of the Chrysler family, especially the wrangler and cherokee.
personally i done like the wrangler that much because as a soft top they are loud as hell on the highway (a lot of wind noise) and the hard tops are a pain in the butt to take off. the wranglers also tend to have a lot of electrical problems.
also if you go for the soft top do not leave anything valuable in the car because they are easy to get into, they can either slash the top, or sides and get in or if they want to be all sneaky about it they can just unzip the sidewalls and get in
but mechanically they are a beast and will run for a very long time. i knew someone who had their grand chreokee go for over 500K miles mostly just by keeping up with regular maintenance
