...Bible itself heretical?
Scriptures teach you to test the spirits and to observe the fruits. Church tradition that contradicts the implicit word of God cannot be explained away by the opinion of church leadership. There is something wrong with that picture

Matt 15:1-3

"Then the scribes and Pharisees who were from Jerusalem came to Jesus, saying, "Why do Your disciples transgress the tradition of the elders? For they do not wash their hands when they eat bread." He answered and said to them, "Why do you also transgress the commandment of God because of your tradition?"
The word of God shines a light on hypocrisy and blatant disobedience to His word. The spirit of God for discernment of His word enlightens those to know that "church traditions" are not ineffable, just as no man is either. This is from scripture in it's simplist terms. No tradition or doctrine is infallible if man has tainted it. And especially with there being clear proof of past and present fallibility. Evenso, prayer for correction and forgiveness is the virtue of choice
