Is taking chemistry a 100% necessity in becoming a zoologist/wildlife biologist?

I want to become a zoologist/wildlife biologist and have started gr.11.

The problem is that I can't take chemistry because I KNOW I will fail. I can not explain to you fully why, but my brain does not want to be capable of learning this.

The past 2 years, (year 9 and year 10), I have had science teachers who do not teach properly, therefore, no matter how much I wanted to understand, I couldn't.

I am scared that because of them I will not be able to become what I have always wanted to.

Does anyone with experience out there know if I have to take chemistry (and physics too)?

I did biology degrees and didnt do chemistry.

Both chemistry and physics are very useful but its not a big problem if you dont do either. There are loads of different aspects of zoology you can just focus on the non chemistry parts.

I have a degree in zoology and work as a wildlife biologist and have always been terrible at math and chemistry. And YES, you will have to take both chemistry and physics to get a zoology degree. Actually you will have to take several chemistry classes and a couple physics courses. I did struggle through these courses, but it can be done!! You will probably want to get a tutor and maybe attend homework labs if your university has them or form a study group with other students in your class so that you can help and teach each other. Sometimes learning from other students makes a lot more sense than learning from the professors. If you REALLY want to have this career, I say don't let chemistry stop you. You can't give up before you even start. With that attitude you will probably not get far in life no matter what you do.

Sooner or later, you will have to take both courses. You may need more than the basic course as well. If your teachers can't teach, you will have to learn on your own. No excuse will be accepted.
