I'm a person that has a bit of trouble with having fun during the summer--parents are complete workaholics, and despite that I'm taking a nontraditional college class in July, my parents are still treating me as if school's still going on, and thus won't let me out too late, even on a crisp, warm Saturday evening when I'm hanging with my friends, I get a call from my parents saying I need to come home, despite that I tell them that it's summer and I'm doing well in my nontrad class, but being them, they don't really believe summer is about fun. Every time I tell them, they'll reply with "well summer's for working and taking extra classes, they all go out and have fun because their parents are too easygoing" something like that.
Even when my friends are planning to go on a roadtrip for at least a week, my parents won't even let me go, giving me all sorts of excuses as to why I can't (such as my ONE nontrad class), and when I try to use logic on them, they just walk away saying that they don't want to argue, despite that they are aware that I'm right.
How do I deal with this? This is my last summer here in my hometown before I transfer 6 hours away to a 4-year school, and I want to make it the best one.
