Ok guys I have grade 1 spondylothesis and the MRI has shown that there is no trauma. When I first got the Xray at my chiropractor he said you have Spondylothesis grade 1 he was suprised that i wasnt in that much pain as someone who has it should so he thought i was born with it. So then i took a MRI for my orthopedist to confirm if i was born with it and what else is wrong.
The MRI proved that i was born with this since i was a child. My Orthopedist said its stable. If i was born with this does that mean its stable? I want to go back to lifting and i already did starting off light but im going to continue.
I still dont feel 100 percent cause i think i strained my spondylothesis how long would this take to heal 100 percent as before? Ive strained this about a month ago.

Many people have spondylolisthesis and never know it. Then, at some point, for some of us the grade/severity worsens and symptoms develop or worsen. I likley was born with spondylolisthesis and even looking back to my early teens I remeraber some symptoms. I remeraber having leg pain that was probably sciatica. But it was fleeting and happened maybe 3 times between 13-16. I remeraber one x-ray in high school that may have showed mild spondylolisthesis possibly grade 1 and I was given a weeks worth of pain meRAB and muscle relaxants and it got better. I didn't have problems until around age 20 when I was swimming. Got out and I swore it was hip pain that would not go away. Student health sent me for x-rays when the pain lasted more than a week, hip x-rays showed low spine as well and they sent me for more x-rays and it was grade 3 spondylolisthesis.

I was in college in Iowa and the University Hospital wanted to do epidural steroid injections for the pain but at that point I was scared of ESI (now knowing how easy they are and that they can work I should have done it). But it was again a fleeting pain. It got worse my junior year in college so I scheduled fusion with a surgeon in my home city (Wausau Wisconsin) instead of doing at the University since it was so far from home.

That fusion lasted for a few years but turns out I am an orthopedic nightmare so I should have had hardware. I agreed with the surgeon, after I did research, that most people at age 20 don't need hardware as bones heal quickly and well and thus I had a good chance of fusing. When I was around 26 and in a bowling league pain returned. That's when I had a fusion with hardware.

So, yes, your spondylolisthesis can remain stable and it may never worsen. But now that you know you have it, keep an eye on symptoms and if at anytime things seem to change make sure to go back and get another x-ray.

Yea my chiropractor said i was born with it and it could be stable cause i wasnt showing alot of pain i really wasnt in pain just felt more like a nuisance and now it feels like squatting and deadlifting is rehab and its making it go away i never had nerve pain luckily or leg pain i guess i got a muscle strain from lifting which made me get a xray and be suprised that i had spondylothesis which i never knew about but yeah i was born with it also supposesly very low grade 1 also
