YouTube has pulled down all video of the crash, including video shot by spectators. But CNN and Associated Press (they provide Yahoo with much of their news stories) refuse to pull down their videos because the crash is a news item.
Should we not show the toppled buildings in Haiti during the Earthquake, even though dead bodies are trapped beneath the rubble? Should we not show the horrors of war, dead bodies of children in Gaza, or flag draped coffins of US Marines being brought home from Afghanistan?
At what point should the news be censored and the public not shown certain video. Who decides what is news and what is not news? Is there any room for the public to be allowed to see everything, and making the choice to turn off the tv when something they don't want to see is shown?
