Is sex an obligation in any relationship?

By relationship I mean boyfriend/girlfriend/husband/wife. Are we obligated to have sex if we have a relationship with someone else? The reason I bring this up is because I heard this topic being discussed on the radio. Most of the people who called in said "Yes, you must have sex even if you don't want to". I'm a little 'alarmed' if anything by this because I SERIOUSLY don't agree with this. And yes, I am a virgin too. I just don't EVER want to feel like I have to have sex with someone just because I want the relationship to last. So please, give me your opinions.

Sex is a natrual part of a relationship. However I have been involved with people I have no urge to sleep with and it turned out that either I wasn't attracted to that person physically or mentally. You should never do anything in the bedroom you are not 100% ready to do.

It depends on how your mate is. If they want to have sex, and you don't, I guess go for a compromise.

If you and your mate are okay with no sex, there is no reason to push such an option. Just make sure that if you (or they) are interested in having sex, be sure that the other is okay with it also.

Conflict on both sides breaks up a relationship than no sex.
