Is riding a bike a couple miles just as good as running a couple miles?

I'm in the army. And I have a P.T test coming up in a few weeks. I have to be able to run 2 miles in 16 minutes. Now I'm going to be honest with you, I Absolutely hate running. It hurts, it sucks, and I suck at it. I really need to pass my run though. But I'm just to lazy to go out and run even on a tread mil. One thing I do enjoy is riding my mountain bike. So my question is. If I ride my mountain bike all over trails, up and down hills, for a couple hours, is that just as good as trying to run the 2 miles? Like If I ride everyday till the P.T test will I past my run? I mean riding bikes does build up your legs and endurance so it would make since but I'm not a fitness expert so that's why I'm asking.
