Is repairing a car oil pan with a repair kit reliable and does it make it like new

again? I am very new to the car repair scene, I have worked on my car before but sometimes I am skeptical about some things.
Is it worth it? The bolt is just stripped but I need to replace it or repair it.

they make a self tapping oversized drain plug i dont like them but will work i would just get a new oilpan,or good used one from a salvage yard
