Is programming decided by postal code?

I currently have the center ice package and live in Edmonton. Tonight's game is on PPV, my question is can I change my billing address to my rental house in Calgary to get around the local blackout on center ice?

There are no other receivers located at the Calgary house so I would not be account stacking, just changing the location of where I want my bills to be sent.

Programming is decided by postal code.
You live in the NHL's designated Oilers/ Flames region.
All of the prairies and NWT are blacked out for the PPV.
Your only option is to buy the game.

Hmm, I thought that normally the Flames PPV games came through on center ice last year here in Edmonton. I'll take your word for it as I never really cared to watch those games so may be mistaken.
 
I may be mistaken with Bell, I have seen this with EastLink, Starchoice and Shaw... but I am assuming this to be true with Bell as well.
You could always listen to the game on ched 630 if you are desperate.
 
I live east of Red Deer near Stettler. Here it is showing that the Edmonton game is not blacked out on CI. However, there seems to be something peculiar as the Calgary game on SNW is showing as being blacked out but is not on CI.:confused: My experience in previous years would have these being the opposite. If I am going to be blacked out for Calgary games shown on SWN, I will have to rethink my decision to cancel my CI.:(
 
Not sure what they would be doing. I live in Saskatoon and the last few years any Flames game or Oilers game on PPV have been blacked out on CI and we must purchase the game. I would assume nothing has changed. I know the first year they had PPV games, they were included in Centre Ice, which they should be as I'm already paying $200 for a PPV package, why should I pay $200 more for the Oilers package, that would never happen. Good thing I'm not an Oilers fan, or really a Flames fan for that matter.
 
Well I guess an easy answer to this, anyone in the Calgary region getting currently getting the Oilers vs Stars game on center ice?
 
At game time the situation reverted to what was expected. The Flames game was available on SNW and blacked out on CI as was the Oilers game. However, there was abviously some glitch as the usual message for blacked out games did not appear but the screen was black and the audio was heard for a short time before a message came up about the smart card not having authorization to view. Also, when I tried to record the Flames game, the usual message came up about how long to record but when I pushed select nothing happened except the message went away. I could not record the game.:confused:
 
That seems to be a glitch for me too on my 9242. I have trouble trying to record a program already in progress but if I go to options, I can usually get it to record.

and for the OP, you'll have to move west to BC or east to at least Ontario to get Oilers or Flames PPV on Centre Ice.
 
Local paper said the game was PPV, in which case I don't think you'd get it on CI.
 
The only way to get Oilers/Flames PPV in Alberta - would be to have a mailing address outside of Alberta/Sask/Man. .. ie if you were in BC, you'd get Oilers/Flames, but then Canucks would be blacked out.

Centre Ice is more geared towards fans of teams outside there home territory. So it works perfect for me - I'm a Canucks fan, but live in Alberta, so I get all Canucks games including PPV w/ Centre Ice.
 
The programming is detremined by THE SERVICE ADRESS...that's the adress we could see in CSG when we open an account

That adress could be modified at any time whithout interferring with the shippement of your bill. This will also determine you eligibility to certain channels (LEAFS TV) and will determine the time of your receiver

THE BILLING ADRESS is where all the bills and communications from BellTV will be sent. That adress is in most cases the same as THE SERVICE ADRESS, but it could also be different. The BILLING ADRESS and the SERVICE ADRESS don't even have to be in the same province!

I had a client who called eac CFL game... He was in Saskatchewan and coudn't see him local team (black out). We changed his service adress to a Montr
